  1. Hallo Thomas,
    hallo Autogefühl-Team,

Hello, is chrysler 300c a good car or is chrysler a bad brand? Everybody is bashing chrysler because of too much hard plastic and so on. Isnt how safe and how good the car drive more important than which sound the buttons make and feel, and if the dashboard is soft…? Who touches their dashboards while driving, so what do you feel thomas? I would much rather have a good and safe car for a good price, than pay a lot just to get some soft surfaces om dashboard and so on, agree or not?

        • James says:

Hello Thomas. Can you review the dodge demon hellcat srt? It is the fastest car in the world, 0-100 in 2.3 seconds. And just at a prize of 80 000 dollars. Incredible or what do you think?

Thank you, you are the best reviewer on youtube Thomas, very good.

      • Autogefühl says:

Sure we also do that. It’s just that not so many American brands are available here.

Hello thomas. I cant post on youtube so i write you here.

          About leather in cars:
          1. When you go on a walk you step over animals.
          2. When you are driving you smash animals over windscreen.
          3. If we wouldnt eat animals, those animals wouldnt even been born. How do you know they would prefer that?
          4. It seems to me that we eat far more animals then we need leather? In that case you wouldnt spare any animal lives, would you? Maybe some, becouse the farmer or whoever, if he couldnt sell the skin, he would have to sell meat for higher price, so less people could aford meat?

Btw i love animals and absolutly canot watch any cruelty. I respect very much your video about leather and dont mean to bash it, just giving some other points of view.

Germany was the first country with some kind of laws against animal cruelty if i am corect, right?

Good luck and keep up the good work.

          • Autogefühl says:

            Hi Luka,

those are all excuses to cover your bad feeling when seeing animal cruelty. The big difference is: We cannot avoid smashing some insects while walking or driving a car. But we can avoid killing mammals for the purpose of being eaten or skinned. Let’s do what we are able to do. If you love animals, you dont consume them. If you love animals, you not only love dogs and cats, but also cows and pigs – they are not so different after all. And we are also not so different from them. They just dont talk our language.

            Thomas

          • Luka says:

We can avoid driving cars for fun, track days, holidays. We can also drive very slow, becouse that way we would kill fewer animals. We could stop walking for no good reason and when we have good reason, we should jump on one leg, or maybe wear heels.
And i told you those cows wouldnt even been born i we wouldnt eat them. You dont agree with me or you think they would prefer not to be born?

Btw what about spiders and small animals like that, you never kill them? Just leave them in your apartment?

When i was young i wouldnt let my parents kill any insect. But then i realized that i should also stop walking and driving in cars.

Is my visit to the parents or going on holiday with family worth killing countless animals? I guess. And it is very hard for me to say it when you put it that way. But on the other hand i didnt ever hear of people who would not go on a walk becouse they would fear for walking over animals.

          • Autogefühl says:

Of course it would be better if cows that are being tortured, are not born at all in the first place! C’mon!

Lets stick to the topic. Using animal skin is pervert. Let’s stop doing this.

      • Oscar says:

Hello Thomas. You have driven the volvo v90, mercedes e class estate and bmw 5 series touring. Which one would you recommend the most? Which is the best in both comfort, luxury and handling? Wich one would you choose if comfort and design is most important? Thank you, autogefuhl is the best car channel on youtube.

        • Autogefühl says:

Hey Oscar, for detailed info it is best to watch all of those reviews in full length, if u havent done so far. Talking about base versions, the BMW is most fun to ride. U gotta pick the E43 to match that. Mercedes leads the comfort and also the offering of sustainable seating materials. Volvo is worst in that aspect, going all the way animal skin in most markets except for very entry trim level.

If you ask me personally, I d go with the Benz and put some nice Dinamica+MBtex(Artico) seats on it, air suspension, maybe a E43 and that kick-ass sound system.

          Best

    • John says:

      Hello Thomas,
Can you please review different cars other than just, vw, mercedes, bmw and porsches? Like the new lincoln continental vs mercedes s class?…Its not that you are reviewing bad, german cars are very good. It would just be more exciting with different cars…

      • Autogefühl says:

The German manufacturers provide way more cars than the importers here, that’s why. So its not that we can change much about it. Thing is that it is not German instead of Others but other cars PLUS more German cars as the market situation is like that here. We are doing 150 cars per year, and almost every brand is among this. Just youtube search e.g. “autogefuehl toyota” and you will find your favourite brand reviews. Lincoln however we do not get at all here :/

      • Terry says:

Hi, can you compare cadillac ct6 vs bmw 7 or mercedes s class? And more american reviews please!

    • Oscar 18 years old says:

Thomas, thank you so much for sharing your views and saying the cons of using animal skin in cars. Fake leather can be as premium, but sustainable. Before I didnt think that animals were harmed just because we want to sit on something that gets too hot in summer and too cold in winter. I did not even think about the problems, before you explained why. You have changed my views thank you. When I choose my car in the future I will never choose animal skin, just fake leather or alcantara! Keep on providing the message to all car ceo, you are doing a great job in making the world a better place. You should get the nobel peace prize! You are the best reviewer ever on youtube Thomas, thank you!

    hi Thomas,

      LG

      Thomas

    Hi Thomas
Without exception we are voting you the best car presenter on the Internet. Yo are very professional, very relaxed and factual. We have watched many Autogeful and other reviews and feel we are getting an honest and balanced view from you.

The most challenging review must have been the launch of the VW T6. A very busy launch where Thomas just swept past all the journalists and in the middle of the of the fight for a look at at the vehicle gave a calm continuous commentary. Well done.

I am currently considering a new car. As a VW Touareg owner my head tells me to buy the new facelift Touareg but my heart tells me to buy the Maserrati Ghibli diesel. After watching you reviews the Touareg wins for all round but as you have kept emphasising I will have to order that new blue with light interior that you seem to have fallen in love with!

Wish me luck and keep giving us your honest reviews.

    Brian Sore

PS. The UK are looking for a new car presenter to replace Jeremy Clarkson. How about it Thomas?

    • Thomas says:

Brian, that’s so nice of you, thank you very much. All the hard work we put in really pays off when reading this.

    Dear Mr. Majchrzak,

First of all congratulations for your vídeos, they are very interesting and enjoyable.

I have seen that you have tested a lot of cars that I interested in, so I would like to know your opinion about following models:
Seat Alhambra, Vw sharan, Renault Espace and Ford S-max.

At this moment my family grows up and I am going to need 3 seats with Isofix because I have 3 childs.
Besides this car will be the main car at home to travel on holidays…

Taking all this information in consideration I would like to know your opinion about these cars.

Even I am considering Vw multivan…

Thank you for your support and keep going with your videos!

indeed i think it would be great to have a deep analysis.
this is an incredibly interesting time for the first new car company in a long time, when product direction can still be unobstructed by tradition and legacy. deep thinking probably has more impact on them that with any other car maker at this point.
    will look forward

    Hello Thomas!
Many thanks for the great work you and the whole team are doing!

    Thank you in advance!

    • Thomas says:

Hey, thanks, we really appreciate that. The C5 is not really new, obviously they put a small facelift on. I ll see what I can do!

      All the best

      Thomas

      • Andris says:

        Thank you!
I look forward to all of your reviews anyways. If you do review C5 Tourer, I’d be interested to know how that hydraulic suspension is performing in colder temperatures like -20 or even lower. That is what really worries me, as I’ve heard rumours that it freezes and locks, and we occasionally have such cold winters.

        • Autogefühl says:

Well I cant really test -20 C in Germany :) That happens just every 20 years or so. Didnt even know the C5 still had that hydraulic suspension, thought they got rid of it

  12. Robert Matusek says:

    Dear Thomas

Let me please send over my take on your work in general. When I discovered your review on the first occasion, I didn’t get your point from the get-go. Mainly because I had to understand who is your prime targeted audience in the first place . A German presenter/host however reviews in English.

Mind you, I couldn’t cease to follow your videos as those become more and more captivating, till I truly realized that your tagline “ Your Nr1 resource of…” become a fact.

From that point on, I became addicted to your reviews. Yes, indeed, there are thousands and thousands of YouTube reviewers out there. However it is about the next-to perfect blend of genuine car-understanding, authenticity, very kind manner you present those shows that makes this big gap between you and your peers in the industry.

It really is a huge pleasure to watch your reviews till the last second. None other, to my knowledge presents this way of elegant and refined fashion. So, massive kudos to you. And please keep up this tremendous work – I can’t wait for the upcoming installment.

God bless you for this treat

    Sincerely
    Robert Matusek

  15. Andris says:

    Hello, Thomas!
You may remember, I asked you about Citroen C5 Tourer. I bought one last week: 2,2 HDI @150KW with hydractive suspension. I switched over from Audi A6 (C6 gen. 2,7 TDI) so it’s still fresh in my memory. C5 is smaller, quirkier, cheaper, more comfortable, but the main thing – the suspension is VERY GREAT, just as I hoped. On 18″ summer wheels it was smoother than A6, and now on 17″ winter tires it just glides. At the moment I seem to forgive all it’s quirks for the fantastic ride quality. Well, that was just a preface. What do you think about reviewing the updated version of C5?
    Thanks for your great job!

    • Autogefühl says:

      Hi Andris!

Wow, interesting feedback really. I ll take that into consideration! Next Citroen in stock will be the DS4 Facelift!

    Hallo Thomas,

      http://www.autogefuehl.de/2015/09/10/audi-tt-cabriolet-roadster-der-3-generation-im-test/

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_M_NNA8RlQ

          LG

    Hi Thomad,

First off I love your reviews as they are comprehensive and thorough. I would appreciate some advice//feedback. Porsche Canada have made a ve y good offer on my trade in – 2003 Ferrari 360 spider. I love the Ferrsri but I want something I can use almost daily. I prefer a manual – have not tried PDK but I have driven other paddle shifters but again I love the purity of the 3rd pedal. They have given me the last allocation on Porsche Cayman GTS. Now I’m not sure if I should but a used 2015 Boxster GTS, 2015 Spyder, or wait to see if Porsche introduce a 718 flat 6 GTS. I can’t go from a V8 Tubi Ferrari to a turbo. I would love to hear your thoughts. All the best, keep up the excellent work.

    Grant

  25. Grant Purdy says:

    Thanks Thomas,

I did see the review – very in depth. But I also watched your review of the beautiful sapphire blue GTS. The F6 engine sounds great and I love look of the front of it. Given that you have reviewed and driven both cars, if you had to choose one which would it be? I have been offered the last allocation for a 2016 GTS Cayman in Canada. Now do I opt for that one or but the 718 S or wait for a 718 GTS version.

    • Autogefühl says:

Uh that depends on the price. Of course the difference is not that huge. Be sure not to pick the super sports seats and go for the Alcantara with the GTS or the Cloth/Faux leather in the new 718.

So you want the closed version and not the Boxster aight?

      • Grant Purdy says:

Yes I woud order the coupe. I like the Boxster as well but it would have to be pre- owned, where the Cayman would be the last GTS in a 6 you can order. I really like your review of hr Sapphire Blue Cayman GTS – that would be the colour I would order. Or prefer the front fascia of GTS over the 718. The air intakes don’t look as aggressive on the 718. If I can decide maybe I should wait for 960 :)

  26. Grant Purdy says:

I meant do I choose 718 turbo or go for one of the lasy F6 Cayman GTS

    Hi Thomas,

Thanks so much for your wonderful reviews; I really do enjoy watching them.

Also, I really appreciate your support of animals and the cruelty that takes place. I hope that all cars eliminate the use of leather in the future.

    Thank you again!

    Hi Thomas,

I hope you are very well.
I just would like to say that I have recently started watching your videos on You Tube and I absolutely love them.
You are doing a great job and wish you lots of sussces in the future.
Where about in Germany do you make them?
    Best wishes from England,

  29. D Roy says:

    Hi Thomas,
Great video review for the models, splendid. I recently started seeing them, its becoming an addiction, it seems! Could you please review BMW 6 series Gran Coupe & the coupe as well, and how the Gran coupe compares with the new 7 Series as well? Also a BMW X5, RR Sport comparison would be great. Hope I didnt get you all worked up.

    Thanks & regards,

    Roy

    Hi Thomas.

Can you test the Lexus GS 2016 and maybe also the Lexus IS facelift when it arrives in 2017?

  31. A Driving Enthusiast says:

Hello Thomas ! Guten tag. Greetings from a looooong way off ! We watch your excellent reviews in the tiny town of Weed, New Mexico, USA. A few miles away from our home, your German Air Force trains with the American Air Force at Holloman Air Force base. After watching your reviews, we decided that Germany needs more friends . So we purchased a 2016 Tiguan. Fabulous car! Just as you indicated. The initial drive has been most excellent ! Many thanks for your thorough and honest reviews ! Ciao ! Guten Abend. Sincerely, Your new friends in the USA !

  32. Mervyn Low says:

Hi Thomas, I enjoy your reviews. I own a 2015 Honda Jazz 1.3 CVT. The engine rattles for 1-2 seconds during acceleration or when the car is carrying a heavy load. It sounds like engine knocking. The agent in Singapore says they already reported to Honda Japan but nothing heard for more than 1/2 a year. It seems there are a few such cases in Singapore. The agent claims this has somethings to do with the Atkinson cycle engine. Any thoughts?

    • Autogefühl says:

Hey, thanks, glad to hear that (about the reviews of course).
Havent heard of that problem yet sorry! You have to contact the dealer again and build some pressure.

      All the best

      Thomas

  33. sickestcombo says:

    Hey Thomas,

this is also Thomas here ;-)

One question: what do you think about the active info display in the new Passat? We are looking for a family car and the Passat has to be it. Would you recommend the active info display? We are looking at it from the long term (family car has to do it for at least 10 years). Of course we are sceptical about technical issues…we dont want to pay many thousands of € if something goes wrong. Our used dream car is found, but it has this display…

Maybe you can comment our concern?!
    Kind regards
    Thomas

    • Autogefühl says:

      Hey Thomas,

      great you are with us.

That’s a really good question. Indeed there have been some issues with the Active Info Display, some then received a software update, some even a replacement unit. I think if the system fails, it will happen quite soon and you can still get the replacement as the used car will also have some rest warranty. I dont suppose that this error will occur after a few years, it will either be there right now or wont happen later, thats my guess.

      All the best

      Thomas

  34. Marek says:

    Hello Thomas,

I have been watching your reviews since over a year now and I am a big fan of your channel! Fantastic reviews!

On daily basis I drive 2015 RS6 (not the performance version that you’ve tested) but consider changing it to the new Audi SQ7 – simply it became too annoying to stop so many times at the gas station plus I like the design of the SQ7. However I am a bit worried that the ride quality might be less satisfying in SQ7. There are no test SQ7s in Poland (where I live) so I thought I would ask you how does the SQ7 ride compare to RS6?

    best regards,
    Marek

  35. Dave Mitchell says:

    Hi Thomas.

Your reviews are fantastic. Really in depth and infotmative. In fact they have helped me make a decision between two cars I have been pondering.

    Many thanks.

    Keep the high quality coming.

    Hello Thomas,
I need youd advice. I can’t decide between Jaguar XE S and Mercedes C400 4matic. What would you choose and why. I’m car enthusiast and I love driveing. I’m looking for best driver’s car and GT car in one. Thank you for your answer. Jozef

  38. Colin Lambert says:

    Thomas,
    Love your road tests.
PLEASE hurry up and and do the Kodiaq. I am dying to order one without even seeing it. But would love to know what you think of it to drive. Specially the 1.4 DSG

  39. Colin Lambert says:

Thanks Thomas. I had hoped they would give the cars out following Paris show. I may have ordered it by November. Apparently in the uK we can order later in October.
I want to be one of the first in England to get one.
Such a shame that they cannot be bothered to bring out some new exciting colours. Still the same old boring, out of date palette.
I watched your brilliant piece to camera at Berlin. Well done You are THE BEST for car reviews.
    Best wishes.
    Colin.

  40. Tim Bernadzikowski says:

Hi Thomas! You are so knowledgeable, personable, and adorable! Keep up the good work! I find myself drooling over the new V90 and V90XC. I have a B5.5 Passat wagon GLX 4Motion that is well used. Would love to replace it with a V90. Not sure if I can afford it though!

  41. Thomas Chong says:

    Good day Thomas.

Thank you for your thorough and comprehensive car reviews. I love it when you share honest opinions whether you would or wouldn’t buy a car.

Thomas, Mercedes-Benz C200 Estate is so good looking, compared with VW Passat Estate so comfortable to drive, which one would you choose if money is not a problem? Also, if you choose Mercedes-Benz Estate, would you choose C200 petrol or C250 petrol for value for money. I live in Australia and there are only these 2 petrol engine choices. I drive average 21000km every year and the diesel engine is not financially worthwhile for me.

Thank you Thomas for taking your time to reply.

    Regards,
    thomas chong, gold coast, australia

    • Autogefühl says:

      Hey Thomas!
      Thanks!

Both cars are really good, definitely. As a tall person, I feel I have more comfort in the Passat though. How tall are you?

      All the best

hello thomas, i have been viewing alomost all the reviews which are great. im planning to buy the audi A3 but in my country of origin(mauritius) its being exported as the 1.2l tfsi only what to you think about it? is it worth? please keep the good job up. thank you very much for so many good reviews.

    • Autogefühl says:

hey man, the A3 is of course a very good but also expensive compact car. I d go for the VW Golf for better price/Performance. If you have the money, sure why not, the 1.2 TFSI is also powerful enough

Hi! I really love your You Tube videos and try to watch all of them. Hope you can do a comparison between MB S550 or S65 versus the Porsche Panamera 2017. Both are high end luxury sports cars, or am I wrong about the MB S550 and S65 are not classified as sports car. But anyway I am curious as to which vehicle you feel is a better all around vehicle. Keep up the great work in your You Tube videos! Thank you.

  44. Jelle says:

    Hi Thomas,

I just want to say thank you!! Your car reviews make me aware of the fact that it is redicilous to buy leather seats in a new car, and that eating meat is more bad for the co2 emissions than driving in a petrol car. Thanks to you we now our new car whitout leater seats. Aldo we try only to eat meat in the weekends now.

Thnx for all the nice reviews, i love to watch them.

    Hello Thomas,

Thank you for all the great video reviews!

Please do a full video review of Lexus GS 300h, preferably the full-featured Luxury/Premier/President model. It would be very interesting to see it compared to European sedans.

  47. Michael says:

    Lieber Thomas,

Weiter so!

    Grüße aus Stuttgart

  48. Nicolas says:

    Hi Thomas
You have tested so many cars in details I think you can definitely give me a good piece of advice.
For someone driving 60000km a year, some back problems and a 60k€ budget, regardless of engine performance what car has the most comfortable seats?
I have to chose between VW, Audi, Bmw, Volvo but I am open to suggestions!!!
I noticed with VW group cars that I feel a lot the vibrations of the chassis in my back. Is this something you also noticed? Or maybe I am over sensitive.
    Thank you
    Nicolas

    • Autogefühl says:

      Hey Nicolas,

hm didnt realize that yet. With that budget you basically have a lot of choice between great vehicles and also we have all the respective reviews.

Shall it be SUV or sedan/estate?

      All the best

      Thomas

      • Nicolas says:

        Hi Thomas
I would rather take an SUV as it is easier for to step in and out with my back problems and my height (189cm).
        Regards
        Nicolas

        • Autogefühl says:

          VW Tiguan
          Skoda Kodiaq
          Audi Q5
          BMW X3 / X1
          Volvo XC60

Should all work for you basically. We got all those in our full reviews that you can take a closer look, just youtube search “modelname autogefuehl”

I feel the Tiguan has best price-elegance-performance-deal :)

  49. Ingemar Forsberg says:

Hi Thomas, I’m a “petrol head” from Sweden who’s just about to make the pleasant but difficult decision whether to buy a Mercedes –AMG E43 4 Matic T-model or an Audi S6 Quattro Avant, both new 2017 year models. I’ve looked at your excellent tests of both these cars and I’ve come to the conclusion that you also think it could be a difficult choice but if you had to choose, not considering the small price difference, what would be your choice?
    Best Regards
    Ingemar

    • Autogefühl says:

Hey m8, the E43 comes standard with Alcantara-seats so I would pick that one. I think its not possible with the S6 to avoid leather, isnt it?

      All the best

      Thomas

  50. Mathias says:

    Hallo Thomas,

    Mathias

  51. Oncul says:

    Hi Thomas,

first of all congratulations for the good car reviews. By far your show is the best of all.

I have a problem which you may consider in one of your next reviews even with cars you already tested. I am a father of twins and recently we bought two reboard infant car seats and unfortunately they do not fit into many cars, eventhough they supposed to fit. Actually there is not enough space between the front and back seats. Thus there is not enough space left for me as driver, at least not for long distances. I tested in skoda octavia station wagon and the new mercedes e class, which was even worse, also midsize suv did not work. Do I have to buy or rent a bus in order to use reboarder seats. I would appreciate if you could consider my described scenario in future.

    Keep up the good work.

    Oncul

    • Autogefühl says:

      Hey m8

      thanks for the approval!
I see your problem. In this case you should rather try a Skoda Superb, that one has plenty of room in the rear! Or a Skoda Kodiaq?
      Both reviews are on Autogefühl

      All the best

      Thomas

    Thank you.

  53. Camac says:

    Hello Thomas,
As others have said, thank you for the excellent reviews. Really easy going to watch the whole 50 mins per review … Elsewhere I skip through large parts.
Do you know when you are due to drive the new E Class Coupe and post a review?
    Thanks indeed

  54. Werner J says:

Dear Thomas, i like very much your thourough and no nonsense approach. I guess i have seen allmost every model tested by you and never been dissapointed. You deserve more viewers! As a big Mercedes fan, and especially a loyal E-class driver (3 one now) i love the new E class very much.
There is one thing troubeling me though, and not one journalist has answered this question: what the hell was mercedes thinking putting a black pianolacquer midconsole in all e classes (except for e63 and sportstourer)? Why c class gets a wooden midconsole and not the e class?
could you please ask mercedes why? I know many people are surprised/disgusted/dissapointed by this. I have orrdered one and i wish
i could have had the midconsole in wood in stead of this cheap, very easy to scratch, fingerprintmagnet black, not matching pianolaquer….
I would very much appriciate this question asnwered….
Greetings, please keep on the pro approach.

    • Autogefühl says:

Thank you so much, your support is highly appreciated.
Hm, interesting point and I agree. Just re-checked the price list for Germany, unbelieveable but indeed only the E63 has the appendix “inclusive AMG middle console carbon”. Guess they wanted to save from configuration/setup money by this. The more they can build the same, the less costs…

          LG

          Thomas

    Hi Thomas

I’ve been following your reviews for a while now and think your presentation style is the best on the internet. I enjoy all your videos even when I’m not particularly inerested in the car in question as I find your voice so calming. One thing I’ve noticed that is annoying to an English viewer is your reference to trunk when the “proper” term is boot, but i can forgive you for that! I’ve been looking out for you follow-up test drive in the Peugeot 3008 as this is a car I am very interested in. Is this something you have planned for the future?

    Keep up the good work.

On that note, have you had a chance to review the 2017 Audi RS3 sedan?

I have just watched your video of ‘A message to automobile CEO’s’,and fully agree with your statements and reasoning.

I have long felt an end to animal skin seats is way overdue,
and I did find the branding and slaughter scenes painful to watch, but agree that it was necessary to highlight the means of production which most people never see.

    Lieber Thomas,

    Hello Thomas,
My wife and I are trying to decide on a mid-size convertible and have found your reviews on the 2018 Audi, BMW, and Mercedes models very informative. The U.S. versions we are focused on are the F33 430i LCI (Rear wheel drive), A5 2.0 TSFI (252HP Quatro), and the C300 (Rear wheel drive, 241 HP). We will order the car with a European Delivery and need to make our decision very soon, unfortunately we will not be able to see or drive the A5 Cabriolet before we place the order (although we have driven the new 2018 A5 Coupe); are you still of the opinion that the A5 is the best of the three?

BTW, I am fairly tall (6′-5″) and understand the A5 has the most head and leg room; is that correct?

We very much enjoy your YouTube Reviews as they seem to be very fair and unbiased. Please keep up the good work.

    All the Best,

    Hey Thomas

Are you looking for anyone to do reviews for you here in the U.S.? I can be your correspondent at the New York, Los Angeles, Detroit auto shows and do reviews on cars like Dodge, Buick, GMC, and many others that don’t sell in the European market. Let me know what you think.

    Thanks

land rover are offering a danish vegetarian option for interiors as you are aware, but at a premium over leather of some gbp4000, this does not follow your ethos

Hi Thomas. I love watching your reviews. Very detailed and comprehensive. Short question: Considering family car depreciation, would you dare to buy a diesel car today or would you rather go for petrol? Or even a hybride car? I’m looking at Skoda Superb, Ford Mondeo etc and keep hearing that diesel is a very bad choice.

    Hello

Are looking at reviewing the new Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace as it is already on sale in Germany? If so would you please compare the third row of seats with Skoda Kodiaq in terms of access and seating comfort (is any of these two cars better in the two aspects)?

I have experience with VW Touran 7-seater (current model)and found it reasonably good for such small car (it also included ISOfix) – comparison with Touran would be also quite helpful as these 3 cars are in a similar price range and likely on the list for bigger families.

Many thanks for you reviews so far, they are great!

    Regards

    Tom

    • Tomas Bilek says:

It may also be interesting to see if there are any differences between normal Tiguan and Allspace – I have noticed some variabilities in the infotainment systems on the existing Tiguans having real buttons while the Allspace is probably utilising capacitive touch screen buttons.

The Allspace currently seems to have much less engine options compare to normal Tiguan. Any idea if the Allspace get more engines as well as R-Line packet any time soon?

      Thanks

  75. Roger says:

Hi Thomas, have followed your work for a bit and esp the leather/ animal skin issue that you have been talking about for a while now. I appreciate your views and would bring your attention to an article in the August 25 issue of the economist. “how to grow leather”. It seems like a way to both be animal friendly while enjoying leather. Cheers for now ~ Roger

  79. Hi Thomas I just want to thank you for your reviews you have helped my husband and I to choose our next car. We have found your easy style and delivery both interesting and informative. You come over as a really nice guy.
We started off by thinking the Ford Kuga or the SEAT Alhambra among other suv’s and have now ordered the Volkswagen Touran our first German car. We will continue to watch your reviews however because we enjoy them so much although I have never been interested in watching car reviews before we too think you should be on the television. Please continue with your fine work.

Allow me to focus more in detail on the Volvo hybrid items and your productions “Volvo going ALL ELECTRIC – really?!” and the reviews on the Volvo XC90 T8. I fully agree with your analysis on the intend of Volvo in the future electrification of their cars.
What is missing so far in the drive reports of the Volvo hybrid cars is the influence of the Crank-Integrated Starter Generator (C-ISG) on the drive ability of the T8’s. As you will know, this C-ISG is an extra electric 47HP engine besides the ERAD, that has been built in between combustion engine and gearbox. It delivers another 180/240 Nm cold crank torque and it delivers 150 Nm boost torque after kick down at low revs and during restarting the combustion engine. I assume that this C-ISG is responsible for the smooth and seamless gear switch perception and for the difference in perception between T6 and T8.
Would it be possible to pay some more attention to this phenomen during your next drive experience? Following my assumption, de C-ISG is an high voltage starter, feed from the hybrid battery, which starts the engine with relatively high revs (1500 rpm+) in order to unnoticeably start the combustion engine besides the ERAD-propulsion.
In fact the C-ISG delivers, without any delay, torque to the gearbox after the throttle position demands it and as result the combustion engine starts and follows a split second later. It feels like that immediate acceleration boost after a kick down, which not only comes from the ERAD.
Furthermore this C-ISG has a function – I assume – for regenerative braking, which you didn’t mention in your video’s. You showed the regenerative power from the ERAD during the first stage braking by wire, however as far as I can conceive there is a second source for engine braking and that’s the ISG, activated by the brake modus of the gearbox lever. This would mean that you can increase the brake force step by step by shifting down, while the retarder function of the ERAD is indifferent from the gearbox or speed. Unlike the T6, the T8 gearbox has an electric oil pump in order to stay continuously and instantly stand by, also without running engine. Does this gives the opportunity to use the gearbox to increase the regenerative braking without running combustion engine? It would be nice, but… could you confirm that? I would like to see that regeneration dial needle on the dash much more down.

I am interested in this feature due to the use of the car as towcar, since engine braking is definitely a fundamental issue on steep and long slopes. I ordered a XC60 T8, and I am faced to a delivery term until March 2018. So I would very much appreciate a report of your experiences!

    Thanks in advance Thomas!
    Viel Erfolg und freundliche Grüsse
    Frans

    • Autogefühl says:

      Hey Frans,

thanks for your feedback and thanks for following us!
I dont know more details about that, I just know that e.g. the 4WD is always guaranteed as when the battery is empty, the combustion engine is used to create energy so that the electric 4WD can still be running.

I see no reason why it would not recuperate when it is running electric only.

Hopefully we can also test the XC60 T8 soon!

      All the best

      Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

We loved your review of the 2018 Mercedes T400 wagon, and ordered one. But it is going to take many months to get, and our dealer suggested that we get a 2017 instead. We will wait if you think it is a better car.

    Thank you!

    • Autogefühl says:

      Hey David,

we are talking about the same current generation of the E-Class, arent we? I havent heard that there were any major differences in the mere model year change.

Hi Thomas, I am a viewer of your youtube channel from far away, living in Japan. I didn’t know where to put a request in for a review if there’s any, and this is where I ended up searching for a contact. I apologize if it’s a wrong place. Anyway, over here in Japan the new Audi RS3 sportback with the 400horsepower engine has not been released(sold) yet, and I haven’t found any in-depth reviews on the internet. So I’m looking forward to it on your channel. I always enjoy your talk, and I hope that this year will be a prosperous one for you and your team. Please take care.

  84. Juergen Klais says:

Du bist der Profi-Tester: Was sagst Du?

      LG

      Thomas

  85. Juergen says:

Hi Thomas, Your comment made me laugh! But more seriously: factually you are obviously right too. For the same money one gets more car with the X5 compared to the X6 (which I believe are both based on the same components and only differentiated by the Chassis). The reason that I am still considering the X6 is the fact that it is a company car (independent of how much or how little I work ;-). But your response has answered my questions! Thank you very much. J

  86. Russel Vann says:

    Hi
I am getting a Mercedes GLC shortly.
    I have a choice between a 250 petrol of a 350 diesel.
The diesel obviously has more torque, however the petrol is quieter, lighter and likely to be easier to sell in 3-4 years time.
You have driven both, which would you choose?

  87. Henrik Fischer says:

    Hi Thomas

Thank you for all your extremely nice Youtube reviews. You are really detailed in your reviews, I love that.

I need your advice – I’m 53 and married to Malene – Work as a banker and live in Denmark just outside Copenhagen. Frederik 16 lives at home and Amalie 23 moved out last year. We are looking for a new family car. Milage per year 20-25000km.
I very much lean to Volvo XC60 the old model – which I know you are very fond of – A slight used one from 2017 -maybe 20000km on the meter. D4/190hp/2WD/automatic/leathersportseats/adaptive cruise/Blis/On call etc.

My alternative could be a brand new Mazda CX-5 Diesel 175hp/automatic/AWD/adaptive cruise.

Both cars cost around 500.000-550.000DKK – EUR70.000. YES we have exspensive tax in Denmark.
What would you go for ? and have I missed another choice ?
And what about the diesel story ? Should I only buy a petrol car?
In Denmark 90% of all XC60 are sold as Diesel. All petrol are the T6 model with 306HP. The 2.0 T5 245HP is not really sold in Denmark so no used ones.
We both love the SUV segment and the high seating position.

Thanks again for all your nice work and hope you have time to advice me here.
All the best and kind regards
    Henrik Fischer

    • Autogefühl says:

Great you are tuning in regularly!

Both are for sure nice compact SUVs to drive. The XC60 is quite big for a compact SUV, but has the more Scandinavian touch for sure.

Hm how does that work with the taxes in Denmark, which vehicles are cheaper? Hybrid? All-electric? CNG maybe too?
Seems really very expensive for those indeed!

You have a lot of different choices in the compact SUV segment. And a lot of them are quite good. This is our SUV video playlist, you can also watch some more there:
      https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZqvo5rXklBvM3V3EULxIMiunEY5zc9rA

How is the Diesel discussion going on in Denmark?

And btw I hope you ll also paying attention to avoid leather seats when buying the car :-)

      All the best

      Thomas

      • Henrik Fischer says:

Hi Thomas – thanks for your quick reply,
Regarding taxes – they have been changed for the better over the last couple of years by the goverment. We use to pay 180% in tax on a new car!!!
        Taxes are currently like this:
105% of the first €11.355 and 150% of the rest.
Deduction of €535 per KM/Liter the car drives more than 16km/L
Which means if you buy a Hybrid or an all Electric car – you get more deduction in the tax. Examples : Toyota C-HR hybrid or VW Golf GTE around €42.650
CNG cars are not really sold anymore in Denmark.

We still sell a lot of diesel cars in Denmark, but when we get better batteries for Hybrid and all electric in 5-10 years time – where all cars can go 500 real km on one charge – I think the sale of diesel cars will diminish some what.

In terms of leather I agree with you, but the toptrim CX-5 Optimum and XC-60 Summum with sportseats you cannot get without leather.

Here are what I am looking at right now:
        CX-5 2016 facelifted model 2,2 diesel 175hp/awd/aut km70,000 €40.000
        OR
The brand new model CX-5 with same specs €70.000
        OR
        XC60 03/2017 km.18000 D4/Aut/sportseats/panorama/adapt crui. 190hk €75000

All the Best Thomas and nice weekend
        Henrik

        • Henrik Fischer says:

          Hi Thomas

Built ,as you say, in Germany, all SUV you really need. Brilliant perfect solid car – great engineering.

    Good evening
A while back Thomas did a fantastic review of the new V.W. Crafter. I also liked how he was in control of the fire vehicle and speaking to the president, Brilliant!!!. We ended up purchasing the L.W.B. Trendline with additional fittings and what a brilliant vehicle it is.
However I have found a major security and safety issue on the vehicle. I have contacted the dealer who is trying to sort the issue out and Customer Services.
However, Would it be possible for Thomas to contact me direct on the email below as i need to ask him a few questions to see if a certain item has been fitted when he did the review.

    Kind regards

    Hello Thomas,

Since last week I am the happy owner of a white VW Polo mk6/aw1 Highline with LED package.
I suspect that the outer LED headlights are the only real headlights, since they are used for both full and dim light. Can you confirm that the inner LED headlight are actually fake reflector plastic?
    Is this normal practice?

    Bonjour Thomas,
